Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, an Exodus Safari representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to relax, explore the city, or prepare for the exciting adventure ahead.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Wildlife & Baobab Trees

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up, and you will begin your journey to Tarangire National Park, approximately two and a half hours away. Known for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks. The Tarangire River, which flows through the park, attracts a variety of wildlife, especially during the dry season.

You will embark on a thrilling game drive, where you may spot lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hartebeests, and countless bird species. The park is home to over 500 bird species, making it a paradise for bird watchers. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park, surrounded by nature.

Later in the afternoon, you will drive to Karatu for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – Wildlife Wonderland to Serengeti

After an early breakfast, you will travel to the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you approach the crater, you will witness the breathtaking view of this vast volcanic caldera, which is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife.

Descending into the crater, you will explore its diverse ecosystems, including savannah, acacia forests, lakes, and swamps. This area is one of the best places to spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). The crater also supports thousands of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and hippos. You may even catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino, which thrives in this natural sanctuary.

After an eventful morning, you will continue your journey toward Serengeti National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you enter the southern plains of the Serengeti, you will begin your afternoon game drive in one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world.

Day 4: Serengeti Safari & Return to Karatu

The Serengeti is a breathtaking expanse of golden grasslands, rocky outcrops (kopjes), and acacia woodlands. It is home to the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes move in search of fresh grazing.

You will embark on a morning game drive, increasing your chances of spotting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards on the hunt. The vast landscapes provide stunning backdrops for incredible wildlife photography.

After an adventurous morning, you will begin your journey back to Karatu, stopping for wildlife viewing along the way.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park – Scenic Beauty & Birdlife

After breakfast, you will head to Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most unique and picturesque parks. This compact yet diverse park is dominated by the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, offering breathtaking scenery.

The shallow soda lake, which expands and contracts with the seasons, is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species. The park is also known for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and elephants that roam the lush forest.

You will enjoy a final game drive before heading back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, marking the end of an unforgettable 5-day safari experience.
